Lo primero que toda persona debería aprender de cualquier idioma – si tiene suerte - es a defenderse de frases o expresiones poco conocidas. En nuestro hábitat usamos sin darnos cuenta tantas de ellas que eludimos su significado. Peor aun es la forma de extrapolarlas y traducirlas a otra lengua, tu interlocutor no termina pillando ni lo mas mínimo.
Hace algún tiempo entre reenvíos de correo encontré un repertorio completito de esas grandes frases en castellano traducidas literalmente – por decirlo de algún modo – al ingles.
